Marathon Digital to Utilize Landfill Methane for Bitcoin Mining in Utah Pilot Project

Marathon Digital has initiated Bitcoin mining powered by electricity generated from methane gas extracted from a landfill. This off-grid pilot project, with a capacity of 280 kW, is located in Utah. Marathon has collaborated with Nodal Power for the execution of this project. Nodal Power, established in November 2022, specializes in generating energy from landfill gas sources in the southeastern United States and Texas. In August, it secured $13 million in seed funding to support its operations at two sites, one of which includes a data center. KEEP READING
